Noise Singapore 09 Tower

I was one of the 3 selected artists to draw on a tower for the launch of Noise Singapore this year. The tower has 4 sides (duh) and it's 1x1x2.38metre.

I have never painted a mural or anything bigger than an A2 drawing block and so this was a very challenging project to work on. I spent around 32 hours over a span of 4 days to complete it. I initially wanted to paint 4 detailed figures of half human/half animals, but due to time constrain, I had to simplify and cheat a little on the other 2 sides where you see some clouds and waves. Heh.

Yesterday was the launch of the whole Noise Singapore event/exhibition, so the guest of honour came down and revealed the towers (they were wrapped up at first -_-). I got to talk to him and shake his hand while the media photographers were snapping away. OMG I swear the flashing lights made me feel like a celebrity for about 0.5 seconds. Hahaha anyway the tower is now located at the entrance of Far East Plaza shopping centre, for exhibition till 29 March. Check it out if you're staying in Singapore.
